Journalling
Journalling is a beautiful practice for all of us to lean into. It creates space outside of ourselves—on paper—where we can begin to unpack and unravel our ideas and dreams in a completely non-judgemental way. Just like after the visualisation, nobody needs to see anything you write down. This is about building a habit of spaciousness, a moment to tap into yourself, to learn how to listen, and to notice what feels like a “yes” in your body. A yes often feels light, open or expansive; a no can feel tight or constricted.
I’ve created a variety of journalling prompts drawn from work I’ve done with clients. These are common themes that come up, and they’re simply here to give you a starting point. But your journal is yours—use it for whatever you like. Mine is a strange mix of to-do lists and free-form ideas. It’s also where I let the internal voices land on the page, especially when they’re being hijacked by external expectations or old versions of myself. Getting those thoughts outside of my body creates space and perspective. It’s a really beautiful practice.
I recommend finding a place where your nervous system feels regulated—somewhere calm, where you can take a deep breath. This might be a favourite café where someone brings you a cup of tea, a spot in nature you love, or a cosy corner of your home. It may shift from time to time. What matters is that your body feels settled enough that you can truly listen to what it’s trying to tell you.
