Marketing Welcome
Welcome to the marketing course.
If you’re someone who says, “I hate marketing,” I want to offer a reframe before we even get started.
Do you believe in the product you’re selling?
Do you believe that you can help make someone’s life better?
If the answer is no, then pause. Go back, check out those vision workshops, and get clear with yourself. Make sure you’re creating something you really believe in—something that’s going to make people’s lives better, something that’s going to make the world better. If you’re not feeling that, then there’s a disconnect in the product you’re trying to sell or the business you’re setting up. So go back and sort that out.
Now, if the answer is yes, as in:
“Yes, I know if only I could reach these people, if only people knew about me, I know I can create positive impact”.
If that’s you, then you might be making your marketing all about you.
If you feel an “ick,” remember, how will you help anyone if they don’t know you exist? You have to let people know you’re here and how you can help them. That’s really all marketing is. It’s getting the message out there so the people we’re here to serve can work out whether we’re the right fit for them, so we can help them and make the world a better place.
So if you are someone who normally avoids marketing, please get out of your own way! Marketing is simply about connection, communication and finding the people we are best suited to help.
As we go, we’re going to create a plan for you that is really aligned, so that when you’re doing these everyday marketing activities they feel comfortable. It still may not be your favourite part of running your business—for a lot of us it isn’t unless you’re a marketer who really gets off on marketing—but it is critically important.
So starting now, we’re going to find strategies that work for you, so you can reach more people, make more impact, and make yourself more money!
So it’s wins all around.
